  • I give Wheadon a 3/10, and I just Snyder a 7/10. More than twice as better, but it still has problems. They really should have had individual movies for the characters and not introduce one of the biggest villains in DC so early. There's a FRworldr (I forgot his channel name) who re-writes Justice League and makes the villains the Injustice League who uses Amazo to fight the team. It's soo good, I almost cried because Hollywood could never make a movie so good.

  • An important note about the shear length of the film: this is not what Zack Snyder's Justice League would've looked like in theaters. He cut nothing, relished in every moment way longer than any sane director would, because he knew he could. The first version in theaters would've been a normal-long 2-1/2 hours I'm sure.

  • This was so good. It was long but it didn't seem too long, neither rushed nor too slow. It was epic in all the right ways, and it respected the characters and the story. The characters look cool, their stories are fleshed out and well paced, and we care for them all. 10/10 definitely need to watch again.

  • IMO most movies adapting any source material (books, comics ect) struggle to fit the entire arcs of various characters into the 90 minute time frame. Things have to be seriously over simplified or left out entirely for the sake of time. I've come to not like movie adaptations for this reason and would much prefer a series or mini series where you have 6-12 hours to adapt the story and characters to video rather than 90-120 minutes.

  • I thought it was a cool movie. I liked the Cyborg and Flash story arcs. Also seeing Steppenwolf as an outcast trying to gain the approval of his leader was a very interesting character motivation. I still think Superman is WAY overpowered to the point that he makes the rest of the JL expendable, except for maybe Cyborg. Not sure if I'll sit through all 4 hours again. But it was cool seeing it in it's raw, uncut cocaine form.

    Steven MagañaSteven MagañaIl y a 4 jours
    • Marvel's just as bad because they didn't introduce each characters either. Black Panther and Spider-Man was rushed to be put in Civil War. It's just a pattern of Hollywood rushing their movies. Just look at Fellowship of the Ring; that movie was rushed to hell because they didn't make solo movies for Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir, Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Smeagol, Deagol and Tom Bombadil.

  • I felt like these "character scenes" were almost as fake as the action set pieces. A rancorous Cyborg, a naive Flash, a 'don't give a shit' Aquaman... first bad idea any writer could come across. To me, the dialogue felt clumsy (ex: Flash visiting his dad in jail, spent like 10 sentences each to say 'you need to get a life') and the character plot predictable and not very well connected to the action plot (ex: made-up backstory for the villain just serves fan-service purpose of presenting Doomsday and has absolutely nothing to do with any of the Justice League's members motivations). It felt like lots of stuff put together for the film to FEEL like a movie, but at least to me it didn't.

  • I love the SnyderCut, but my biggest bug bear with the movie is Batman recruiting a team before Steppenwolf has shown up. I know Batman is like a precog who leaves nothing to chance, but it seemed like an excuse to create the Justice League when Steppenwolf's arrival would have been enough motivation. I know his behaviour probably syncs up with most comics, but you need cause and effect in movies.

    • @zhengyingli That's fair, but he doesn't reiterate that in JL. He just says he thinks there is an impending threat without naming it. It's petty, I know. But really lazy writing to not to make the team as a direct consequence of an attack that threatens the world. A movie needs stakes.

  • Quite simply: no, Zack Snyder's Justice is not a shining piece of visionary genius. It's a shining example of a Zack Snyder movie unbound. Consider it: In Man of Steel and BvS, Snyder was restrained and the movies still sucked. Left to his own devices, Snyder is a narcissistic, self indulgent who can't "kill his darlings". And because of that, we get an overstuff 4:02 minute movie that needlessly had a 5 minute icelandic (or whatever) folk song that ends with a woman creepily sniffing a sweater, needless slow mo scenes, Barry being creepy with a girl (in slow mo), bad continuity, etc. But beyond that, the mystery is how Whedon went from decades of working with men and women of various colors, races, and sexual orientations, including directing two major blockbusters (one of them very well received and one of them not but also thought to have had too much studio interference), and having no known issues to suddenly being a misogynistic racist. What, is he just turning into a horrible person in his older years? Or is he just a DCEU misogynist and racist? Or is he being scapegoated by anyone with an affinity for Snyder? It really seems like Whedon's only crime was agreeing to WB's terms to step in and finish the movie and do it the way WB wanted. And for that, the directors of Wonder Woman and Aquaman suddenly think Whedon is a terrible directory and the cast of Justice League think he's a misogynist and racist. The guy who was one of the earliest writers and directors to make women, INCLUDING LGBT women, the strong heroines of his stories is now a misogynist. Ok, sure that jives.

  • The icelandic singing...THEY WORSHIP Him. Thats a theme of the JL comics that they are like gods, and in the whole damn point of the "Snyderverse". He contrasts Clark who didn't "become Superman" until the age of 33. (Christ comparison) Aquaman comes on the king tide, bringing fish (christ imagry) visiting the human decendants of the nordic warriors that the ancient Atlantian king marshalled against Darksied. Aquaman is a literal decendant of Posidon, just like Wonder Woman is literally of Zeus. There are two cases of worship songs surounding Aquaman in the Snydercut; the icelandic singing and the gospel sounding song with lyrics "there is a kingdom, there is a king" once again evoking Jesus Christ. Think of all the overthe top Christ imagery surrounding Superman. Snyder is comparing and contrasting the actions of Aquaman and Superman; through the lense of Christ. Posidon = Aquaman Mercury = Flash Athena = Wonder Woman Hades = Batman Apollo = Superman And the NEW GOD of technology Hephestus = Cyborg now a literal "New God" of technology Stoping the NEW GODS from the 4th world Steppenwolf and his paraDEMONS... Darksied is seen in a cathedral for goodness sake. So criticising the icelanding worship music seams to me, like your just not paying attention. Where Thugnotes at when you need him bruah?

The Snyder Cut proved what I'd been saying for years; Hollyweird, stop assuming your audience are all idiots! I'm sure I could come up with examples of movies that go overboard on exposition & high-brow concepts, but there are far too many movies that are edited to the point of making me feel like I'm being treated like a fool for watching them. The Snyder Cut somehow found that near-perfect balance.

The rare bad review from critics are from the ones who denied its existence and slammed anyone who said it existed. The receipts are there. Most of the few negative reviews are people making up bullshit reasons to not like it cos they said one of the following in the past. 1. It didn’t exist and anyone who believes it is dumb 2. Zack Snyder is an idiot who doesn’t get the characters. 3 slow motion is a huge issue, but I won’t ever criticise marvel for having fight scenes with 50 cuts per second and give you seizures when you try and follow 4. “It’s too dark” 5. “Aspect ratio is annoying. I don’t like having black bars on the screen” even when most films have black bars just in a different orientation. If this wasn’t universal praise nothing ever has had universal appraise. Cos there are still hasn’t been a valid criticism brought to my attention when watching this film

  • Zack Snyder's Justlice League shows why DC's cinematic universe failed. They tried to do too much too quickly, and it didn't translate properly to the demands and limitations of the big screen. Batman v Superman should have been 4.5 hours as well. Even the ultimate edition falls short of truly developing it properly. Don't play catch up with Marvel. Let everyone have their moment.

    • @Goodbrew84 The 3 hour cut was actually supposed to be the theatrical cut.

      zhengyinglizhengyingliIl y a 5 jours
    • Like Batman v Superman was so easily cut down for theatrical release and was totally not and overstuffed mess.

      Goodbrew84Goodbrew84Il y a 5 jours
    • @Goodbrew84 They weren't supposed to be individual stories because his five movie arc weren't structured as such. Plus, it's not fair to say that the 4 hour director's cut isn't viable considering it could be easily trimmed down to 3 hours for theatrical release.

      zhengyinglizhengyingliIl y a 5 jours
    • @zhengyingli And yet it took 4.5 hours to tell the story he planned for one of them, something that isn't going to be threatrically viable. And Batman v Superman also needed to be a much longer movie. And none of them were marketed or produced as a lengthier story - they were all supposed to be individual stories part of a larger universe, very difference from LoTR trilogy. You can't compare the pacing of Fellowship of the Ring to Batman v Superman. The story structures are just so different. I think what he was trying to do was awesome - and Justice League showed the creativity he was trying to envision. It just wasn't a viable movie structure.

    • @Goodbrew84 Snyder's plan was to make 5 movies surrounding Superman: Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, Justice League, Justice League 2 and Justice League 3. That's more than 9 hours.

  • Imagine they'd taken this and made it a series instead of a movie

    • @spaghetti not what I meant. I meant if it was taken and made longer. There's always a lot of potential that DC leaves on the table.

    • It's divided into parts, nobody's forcing you to watch it entirely in one sitting. You can perfectly watch it like a serie by just watching one part at a time...

  • Synderverse should continue.

  • The movie was freaking EPIC. But also, Every. Single. Scene. Carried on at least 20 seconds too long. Movie could have been sheer perfection if they whiffed it down to 3Hrs 15 minutes.

  • I personally believe this film is better than the original Justice league and Suicide squad. Haven't seen Birds of Prey yet, but every other DCEU film is better than this.

  • This movie is a like a wet dream, when you're in it, you think everything is amazing, then when you wake up and you see the real mess you were doing, you realize it was bad
