  • Attacking actors only demonstrates how desperate the Right is for establishing their enemies, when the enemy is them. How hard is it to argue anti nuclear proliferation? Move over actors, let the "experts" do it. Empty and desperate. Seems everything the Right does is to distract from the Disparity of Wealth chart thats been fucking us since the seventies.

  • The fact that some “Americans” keep asking them selves (or not even quetioning) “are we the baddies?” Is really puzzling. Of course you are, forcing coups all over the world so the countries satisfy American business interests. It been like that for ages. All around the world this is an obvious truth, but not within America. There’s more “bad people” in the world, sure, but Americans are not on the other side. Just think about what the CIA is, and there you have it. That’s why I always find series like “Homeland” which run under the basic principle that they are the “good” guys but with flaws. They’re not the good guys, they have never been.

  • Trey and Matt's "we hate the Iraq war but think it might be necessary" quote is, in many ways, the beginning and end of this, as it highlights the limitations of Team America and their libertarian flavour of satire in general: making satire that stands for absolutely nothing, throws up its hands and goes "I guess everyone is stupid except us, dear viewer" is the easiest kind of satire you can possibly write. Writing satire with an actual angle is way harder and has more stickability, I think. Team America just shits on everything, which makes for short term fun, but it fails as satire.

South Park and team America have pretetentions of being parodical but they always stop short before asking the *really* important questions, like “what differentiates dicks and assholes”. • well I'm Iraqi and grew up in the war imo, the USA did liberate us from Saddam, the man was a psychopath, not just a regular dictator on 20th March 2003, I was 10, I remember whenever a US convey pass everyone in the neighborhood was cheering for them, my dad even wanted to name my unborn brother at the time "Bush" (thank god he didn't, it's a dumbass name lol) BUT with that good thing the US did, they equally did many bad things as well, they installed a government of mafias, they're indirectly (or maybe even directly) responsible for ISIS, and they left the country in more mess than it was in conclusion, I can't say what the USA did was good or bad, but either way, the USA made a huge impact and bolted out, same as the Britts after WW1, I guess my country can never get rid of that curse PS: I love everyone, and I love Americans, government actions are never by the people, and the criticism in this movie is the best proof

  • I don't agree with Team America's message about American foreign policy. It's fence-straddling. Almost all of the violent (and even non-violent) regime changes instigated by America have backfired. While it is a noble thought that we can liberate a foreign people from an oppressive regime, ultimately our self-interest (which is not uniquely American) prevents us from creating a more stable government afterwards. The American-supported government that follows the regime change will be foreign and unwanted to the citizens of that other nation, no matter what form it takes. It's common sense, that an even an oppressed people will still see more legitimacy in a regime of their own making than any one created by foreign hands. American interventionism should be limited to directly helping actual allied nations, otherwise it's just a destructive expression of our hubris and decadence.

  • Only USA and NATO states support Interventionism. USA doesnt POLICE, it COLONISES It's in the Chinese Constitution that China can't interfer in another countries Sovereign issues or invade another country. Putin was the darling of DC and the EU until the Munich Security Conference in 2008 when made a speach calling for Unilateralism (where each state has its own interests and all states should negotiate to promote/defend their own interests to avoid conflict and stay out of other countries affairs if their own interests weren't directly threatened). Interventionism is just the latest buzzword for Colinalism. There have been many since the UK said it was their duty to invade Africa and Asia to "Civilise the Noble Savages". The motivation is the only thing that doesnt change; access to resources and/or markets. Other excuses were "Christianising" and "Making safe for Democracy".

  • Manchester (Arianna Grande Concert) Bomber = Blowback. The terrorist bomber was a CIA/MI6 agent (on payroll) His father was employed by US/UK to undermine Gidaffi in Libya. He lived in UK on the UK govs payroll. When NATO started the Libyan Civil War they transported him back to Libya. His son (born and raised in UK) left his father and joined a different Islamist terrorist group. MI6/CIA lost track of him until he reached out and said he wanted to retuen to UK. The UK Gov transported him back to the UK and set him up in a flat and paid his expenses. It turns out he had been training with ISIS in Libya and only came home to committ the attrocity.

  • It's not just Blowback. USA arms, funds and diplomatically supports hundreds of Terrorist groups. And with typical US hypocrisy turns on them and even turns back to support them. Or even fights them and supports them at the same time (there was the tragic example of CIA sponsored Islamist terrorists fighting Pentagon sponsored Islamist Terrorists in Syria). Or like now, how Al Qaeda is an officially designated terrorist group by USA but HTS, which is the Syrian branch of Al Qaeda (Changed name from Al Qaeda, to Al Nusra to HTS) is funded and diplomatically supported by USA. There are thousands of poor middle easterners* who have fought for and against US allies for various different militants just chasing the best paycheck. The cause is irrelevant but often it that's USA and it's Gulf State Monarchies that pay the best. Read : The Management of Savagery by Max Blumenthal for evidence.

  • And now we have UNIVERSAL Blowback as every country hates USA. Protests against US Fascism in London, Canada, NZ, Greece, Paris.. everywhere.... TRUMP :" We're the greatest country on earth, we're gonna be back on top any day now"

  • It was this movie (and south park episode) that gave me the epiphany, when your country does something terrible that wasn't the actions of some rogue official but a willful engagement of evil by (or with the approval of) the leadership administration, then you're either an Expat, a Revolutionary, or you're partly responsible for the terrible action. Protesting, or voting for the other guy are nice but as the movie points out, you're just a pussy who is fooling himself into thinking he's less to blame than the people that supported the war. If you lived in the U.S. in 2003 (as I did and still do), or even participated in the American economy in ANY way during that time, then WE (that includes YOU) helped send the the bombs that ended innocent lives. Now I'm not advocating violent overthrow of the government, actually, of those choices, I'd pick Expat. I'm just saying that Expats and Revolutionaries are the only Americans who can truely be considered blameless for what happened in Iraq, and that I, along with 250 million other Americans that did not leave or revolt, share in the blame for Iraq. To quote V "certainly there are those who are more responsible than others and they will be held accountable, but in the mean time, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror".

Which is to point out that America has no business habitually sticking its nose in places far away from it, and to highlight how far away from its own borders they're meddling in the affairs of. You seem to think it's only about the American viewpoint of America being the center of all importance, but I don't think that's it.

  • Gary Johnston: We’re dicks! We’re reckless, arrogant, stupid dicks. And the Film Actors Guild are pussies. And Kim Jong-Il is an asshole. Pussies don’t like dicks, because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes - assholes who just want to shit on everything. Pussies may think they can deal with assholes their way, but the only thing that can fuck an asshole is a dick, with some balls. The problem with dicks is that sometimes they fuck too much, or fuck when it isn’t appropriate - and it takes a pussy to show ’em that. But sometimes pussies get so full of shit that they become assholes themselves because pussies are only an inch-and-a-half away from assholes. I don’t know much in this crazy, crazy world, but I do know that if you don’t let us fuck this asshole, we are going to have our dicks and our pussies all covered in shit. Lisa: (To Gary) You had me at “dicks fuck assholes”. This movie is surprisingly profound if you look past the crude delivery.
