  • Correction: At 12:10, we refer to a man from San Diego blowing his life savings to find love in the Philippines and show Big Ed. We meant Larry (also from Before the 90 Days) who is from Florida. We hope you will forgive us of such an embarrassing error.

    • Reality shows are so fake. Like, 90 Day Fiance, they act like certain things are a problem like money, when the show is clearly paying the person to do the show.

  • "Your obsession love spell is on point! Ever since I met my boyfriend I knew he was the one. I could not stop thinking about him all of the time. My feelings became stronger the more I was around him at work. He was hesitant to date me because of the rules. I never cared about them but he took them seriously. After having this spell cast though, that changed. He started pursuing me and we spent almost everyday together and we have been inseparable ever since!" I would have no hesitation to recommend this powerful spell caster to anybody who is in need of help should contact via: or WhatsApp via: +15623801790

  • This was beautifully said. I'm in the process of reshaping my own warped ideas of love in order to break a pattern of codependency that lead to a a few toxic and two abusive situations. That new definition of love is exactly what I've been practicing lately.

  • I mean, I think reality shows like this exist to allow us to question these ideas. I mean, even within 90 day fiance's own media, there is a whole programme where they get former contestants to laugh at how ludicrous it is that these people will do anything to find love. And that kind of conversation is why 90 day fiance is so popular in the first place, we're laughing at these people's misguided ideas about love. So I think they're working to deconstruct rather than uphold a lot of our ideas about love.

  • Love is overrated, marriage is overhype, being single is underrated. I love being single, rather then having partner I had friends with benefits, many of them are males, couple females. As guy it is easier to know what other guy think, feel, want, womens are complicated. Myb Im wrong, my strange lifestyle is product of my strange intersex body.

  • I hate the idea of unconditional love. Sure I love my husband but HONESTLY if he (although I doubt this would ever happen) becomes abusive or gets into serious substance abuse problems or drastically changes personality, I will only stick around until I find out if he's willing to change and get better. I owe it to myself not to stay in a situation that is bad for me with no hope of changing. The idea of unconditional love just shackles us to potential abusive situations.

    cactuslemcactuslemIl y a mois
    • At the same time though there will always be ups and downs which couples have to ride out. The good qualities outweigh the bad. You're not supposed to be head over heels all the time and sometimes you might feel like you dislike your partner but you still love them and ride it out. Just because it isn't going great doesn't mean you need to fight though, nasty fighting can lead to distrust which kills the relationship. Anyway know your deal breakers when it comes to relationships and stand up for yourself but remember not to threaten or actually break up over dumb shit.

  • Love is not a perfect fantasy, i think like all emotions there are ups and downs and I think its up to you if you choose to continue that relationship depending on the context. I've known many people with happy marriages and truly represent this idea of love, but that doesn't mean they don't have flaws and they work them out. Also consider non traditional partners like polyamory where you have the ability to love more then one person. I think its important you love in my eyes is trust, and wanting to grow with someone, and that love might end up being platonic. At the end of the day we all feel lonely and are looking to share our life with someone who will cherish our memories together. This is just my opinion at the moment and it may change over time.

  • IME, the key is just be yourself... never deviate from your true self and don't try too hard. Don't lie, don't pretend. Love yourself first, be a WHOLE individual that doesn't really "need" anybody instead of half-of-a-couple NEEDING someone to complete you (Yuck, right?)... you have to bring something to the table. Give that person a reason to want to spend their time with you. If you find somebody who falls in love with you while you're being your true self you are golden. You can just be you and they are happy with it. If you pretend at first(rookie mistake) they will always be looking for you to improve your true self..which will suck. yourself. Be a person that someone WANTS to be next to. Love life!!!....I know that sounds cliche but it's what will attract the person you're looking for. Good luck, but don't care too much about it.

  • I am being reminded of an ex-girlfriend. One of the reasons our relationship failed was because she was expecting our love to fix everything. Like somehow she would not feel bad about not having a job or college, she would feel blissfully happy about having found true love. The downside is she was in love with little old me, who is just your average joe. And when I couldn't bring her happiness, well then it simply MUST be me who is the problem. Oh, and she was obsessed with reality tv shows.

  • It would be healthier (but less profitable for TV shows and marketing companies, I'm sure) if people were commonly taught the 'Eight Ancient Greek Words for Love'. Eros = romantic, passionate love Philia = affectionate love Agape = selfless, universal love Storge = familiar love Mania = obsessive love Ludus = playful love Pragma = enduring love Philautia = self love If you break down 'Love' and all it can really mean, 'Love' can be healthier and more beneficial to everyone involved. Philautia or 'Self Love' isn't as marketable for dating shows, like the ones that were mentioned. 'You don't deserve toxic love' is a better message to send then anything else.

  • I'm sorry, I TRIED to watch to watch some of these but I just couldn't without getting disgusted. Seeing people getting emotionally invested while being rushed and knowing little about the people they meet seems scary. I'm sure there are billions of these shows but by watching the review videos, it looks like a lot of young and naive people being pushed by producers with flashy clothes/items and tons of cash/sex. Then having words put in their mouths in a visually romantic setting or they get kicked. I just don't see what's so romantic about people breaking down over that kind of pressure.

  • Big Ed was essentially a paid actor. Not an actor per-say but, he was PAID TO ACT. The whole show is a farce - it's a fantasy of a parody that has nothing to do with reality. I thought this was common sense?? Big Ed is a character that doesn't even exist..

  • Onlogical rootedness sounds like embracing familiar love, or what most people do when searching for someone, which can be both good and bad. If your familiar love of your parents was abusive, you would end up with someone just like your abusive mother/father. It's the reason why so many people keep finding assholes. Not all men/women are terrible, you are just going back to what you are comfortable and familiar with.

  • This was so interesting! I never considered other people could have a different concept of love than I did. I used to feel "incomplete" without a partner as a teenager, but as I got older I was fine being in a relationship or not because I always felt like me. When my husband and I started dating we read a book together called Real Love in Dating by Dr. Greg Baer. His view is that expecting things from people leads to disappointment so to unconditionally love them you show them love and not expect anything in return. In order to do this though, I think you have to put yourself first and watch out for abuse. You can still love someone and leave to protect yourself. My husband and I have also come to realize that unconditional love is an ideal that is almost impossible for humans to practice 100% of the time because of course we're going to be angry when the other does something we don't like or annoyed or hurt or any negative emotion that takes over and replaces the feeling of love. But we've promised to do our best and keep trying to unconditionally love each other. For me that means that once I've calmed down and can think clearly again, I try to see him as a whole person instead of the one thing he did and often realize that it doesn't matter as much as I thought it did in the grand scheme of things. Honestly, we've only been married for 2 years but it's been the best feeling I've ever experienced to have an emotional breakdown or mess up and know that there's a human being who still cares about me deeply despite my weaknesses. I can be my authentic self around him and don't have to always be putting on a show to impress. I get to be that person for him too! I feel like a whole person+++. It's not a fairy tale, but to me it's better because it's real and obtainable. It's even helping us move toward ontological rootedness.

  • Well Aristotle stated that character was a variety of actions that we do. In romantic relationships I feel that our “true” selves come out with we do things for others. If we take a evolutionary perspective on this matter, the courtship revolves who can provide the most. I believe that in a sense we need to live in the moment and take things one step at a time on the other hand, we should balance ideal romantic love with scrutiny. No one is happy all the time, being in that state is unrealistic and toxic.
