  • It's really hard to think of something bad about it but there's one thing that bugs me, hear me out: The taxi driver "Esmarelda" who for some reason is Colombian, is FAR, absolutely far from a Colombian person and the actress does a terrible job with her accent, not only that but the actual name is "ESMERALDA" as the gemstone emerald in Spanish, it's a tiny detail that just blows off the magic for me, why did he choose to make her Colombian? I don't know, but he didn't do that much of a good job on doing so, there, I said it.

  • Weird anachronism: the vibe of the movie feels very 70s, owing a lot to Tarantino’s love of exploitation films. So the $5 milkshake makes sense, that’s a lot to pay for “milk and ice cream” in the 70s. But Vincent has a cell phone, so the movie clearly actually takes place in the 90s, when no one would bat an eye at a $5 milkshake. This isn’t a complaint, I appreciate the heightened reality that that kind of tonal dissonance can create. It’s like the clamshell E-reader in It Follows, when everything else in the movie clearly wants you to believe it takes place in the 80s.

  • You could argue that Jules' interpretation of the event actually causes Vincent's death. If he hadn't given up the life that day he'd have been there watching Vincent's back, but we can only assume that he was already off being Cain from Kung Fu.

  • I don’t know if it’s been brought up yet. But when you’re talking about Quentin being in Pulp fiction and not his other movies, like Django, that’s wrong. He is in Django. He’s the Australian slave trader guy that talks to Django near the end of the movie then Django shoots the dynamite on his hip and blows him up.

  • “Jules says no, Vincent says yes. Do you think the movie is oriented towards one of those answers?” Well, just a WILD thought here, but MAYBE the movie is oriented towards the character that acts upon his belief and is spared (Jules), and not the one that acts upon his belief and get machine gunned unceremoniously, sitting on the toilet, after taking a dump. What makes Pulp Fiction so incredible is that it is a very violent, mundane, and comically dark movie, about a f*ing divine intervention.

  • Best use of director in their own film: silence. They don't have importance diegetically, because adding that on top of the auteur-importance of a director to film in our media consuming world. But when they're silent it doesn't draw attention - like Peter Jackson's carrot eating in his Tolkien adaptations.

  • Here's something for the "bad'',in my opinion. It's boring,it's one heck of a boring and confusing movie for anyone who isn't a movie enthusiast. I haven't met anyone who isn't passionate about cinema, who likes this movie, but maybe that's just my luck. It's a little too niche imo and it's a heck of a task to explain to a regular viewer why this movie is considered to be so amazing. I myself don't like the movie either, and everytime I ask I get a mutiple layer analysis on small details of the movie, which doesnt really cut it for me.

  • I love how they talk about the "what if" aspects of Tarantino's films. I don't think they're all like this but it's obvious when you think about Inglorious Bastards and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, it's an alternative telling of the story with subtle twists and "what ifs." And that's why I wasn't offended when he made Bruce Lee into an arrogant asshole for 4 minutes and then get thrown into the side of a car, I thought it was hilarious and I absolutely love Bruce Lee, so I just thought "huh, that'd be interesting." And also, the guy playing Bruce Lee did an amazing job.

  • you can tell by Vincents and Pumpkins mesmerising reaction that they are looking at a big diamond, Pumpkin even says "it's beautiful". It also ties in to those public school boys only being able to be involved in a white collar crime like selling stolen diamonds on the black market as Bret works in that industry and told Marvin he could move them on. The first deal he set up was for the smaller diamonds and after being robbed he told Marsellus that he still had the big diamond in the briefcase and he also told him who robbed him in the hope he would show mercy

  • Doesn't talk about how Vincent can some how walk let alone drive and remember to go to Mr. Walacices house to pick up Mia and take her to Jack Rabbit Slims then dance with Mia (kinda makes sense because he's probably less high) then drive back to mias. Don't know how long herrion lasts for so I'm gonna stop there but if it goes longer then estimated 40 min. If it does though I'm not gonna spoil it for people. Pulp Fiction is one of my favourite movies of all time just a little nit-pic.

  • The uzi doesn't belong to Vincent Vega. Vincent uses a pistol, which we saw when they killed the guys in the apartment and also at the end, in the dinner. The uzi belongs to Mr. Marsellus, who left it on the kitchen counter because he went out to get coffee, which is why he was right down the block from Butch's apartment.

Interestingly that film also uses its own version of the trunk shot, not to reveal what the glowing object is. By stealing this iconic 1980s McGuffin, to the 1990s audience it says immediately “it doesn’t matter what’s in the case, you’ll miss the best parts of this movie if you obcess on it”.

That didn’t make any sense UNLESS Tarantino is using it for irony because in the hypothetical scene with Jimmys wife, she looks to be Black. Other than that, it doesn’t work to me.
