  • 2:23 A chair is a raised surface used to sit on, commonly for use by one person. Chairs are most often supported by four legs and have a back; however, a chair can have three legs or could have a different shape. Chairs are made by a wide variety of materials, ranging from wood to metal to synthetic material (e.g. plastic) , and may be padded or upholstered in various colors and fabrics, either just on the seat (as with some dining room chairs)or on the entire chair. Chairs are used in a number of rooms in homes (e.g. living rooms, dining rooms, and dens), in schools and offices (with desks), and in various other workplaces. A chair without a back or arm rests is a stool, or when raised up, a bar stool. A chair with arms is an armchair and with folding action and inclining footrest, a recliner. A permanently fixed chair in a train or theater is a seat or, in an airplane, airline seat; when riding, it is a saddle and bicycle saddle, and for an automobile, a car seat or infant car seat. With wheels it is a wheelchair and when hung from above, a swing.

  • Lmfao, that copypasta is so pretentious its hilarity gets me every time. To me personally, Rick & Morty is a very funny and entertaining show, but it's like the equivalent of dangling car keys in front of an infant, with pop culture references and nihilistic themes woven in. It's entertaining, there's a lot of noise, color, interesting shapes, nonsense words, and wacky hijinks. But it's not a smart show with much poignant to say, like Bojack Horseman or The Wire.

  • To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

  • I saw Wisecrack at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

  • Anyone who needs it to say something about their own intelligence is just a narcissist. The mere fact that Rick & Morty inspires a single person to "overthink" is proof that it's a thoughtful show. Whether or not you get the references is simply a matter of how much exposure you've had to the material, but clearly there's a deliberate effort on a part of the writers to set themes to each episode so that viewers take some kind of lesson away regardless of what your IQ is. I can think of plenty of examples where I, personally, have finished an episode of Rick & Morty and felt inspired. I think the reason people become confused as to whether it is or isn't an "intellectual" show is that most of the comedy is completely random, which sometimes takes away from the stories they're trying to tell. No matter what you want to make of it, it's still a cartoon. It's still meant to be silly and ridiculous, which is why it's entertaining. If you strictly are in search of brain-food, there are plenty of lectures on FRworld. Don't put Rick & Morty on a pedestal thinking you can mine it for a science education when it's still just a show about an alcoholic old man and his grandson shooting portal guns and making poop jokes. It's excellent... I love it... It certainly deserves to be considered brilliant for an animated TV show... But there's a reason it airs on Adult Swim and not NOVA.

  • I'd say this has always been the outlook on love in R and M, in regards to Beth at least. In the Chrononberg (sp on that) Beth mentions to Jerry that loving him is 'work'. The fear of Beth being a clone and the couple's therapy reaffirms her love for Jerry. And even in the Pickle Rick episode the matinence of love (this time for the family) is again work. I don't think this is a change in the philosophy of the show in regards to love, but rather it builds on its core argument of it.

Meaning that when you take the test, it is reasonable to assume that your score could really be up to 15 point higher and 15 points lower than what you actually received. Disregarding that IQ is a biased and incomplete method of testing intellegence, it would be difficult to gain a complete specificity about IQ in the way that the copy pasta mandates as a prerequisite for seeing the tattoo. That tattoo is his super precious visual secret, and he wants no one to see it. He just doesn't want to outright refuse the request of a lady.

Also, all I know about copypasta comes from that case about the girls who killed their friend because Slenderman told them to? Or something? Totally out of the loop here.) (Also, also, sorry for being pedantic, but as a Russian language translator I really have trouble seeing the word "дети" translated into "sons", as it means children. "Sons" would be "сыны". Children makes more sense, as we're dealing with a generational split. But, oh well, as wise philosopher Whitney Houston once said: "It's not right, but it's ok.")

IQ is a measurement to see your problem solving capabilities. It has absolutely nothing to do with knowledge nor humour. If you don't understand the difference between knowledge and intelligence knowledge can be improved through acquiring information while intelligence is your static capability to solve complicated problems, at least that's what we used to think in 1904 when IQ was created. Now we know we actually improve our IQ overtime as well. Referring to IQ in the modern day of age is alone just stupid.
