i knew it was bad but i didnt think it would be THIS bad... they have light a totally op power because hes too dumb to use the original??? what???
Mias character Arc in DN “I’m a _fuxkin cheerleader_ Light...”
That's why I prefer the Japanese real life remake. I'm not sure if the one made in 2006 is good but the one I watched was the 2015 version and the acting was so good. It's just that Kento plays L and it feels different since it feels like L has so emotions in the drama. But the drama is recommendable✨
Glad you included the manga ending. I absolutely loved the manga ending as it shows Light could kill so many people and not give a shit but when it was his time to die he was completely afraid, even though he was a mass murder that could have potentially killed falsely accused innocents for all we know. While symbolic, the anime ending isn’t as good in my opinion but that’s just me.
It was one of the worst movies ever made.
I wanted to watch movie, thanks for convince me not to watch.
I agree that the lice action death note movie is bad but without it i would probably never have watched the anime. I do not think the movie is good but i did think that the concept was interesting. I knew people liked the anime so i gave it a watch and it's the only anime that i have watched that i like. I have only seen tokyo ghoul, death note and some other that i can't remember the name off
Bruh Netflix made us look dumb✋🙄
The Netflix live action is absolute trash
Why you ignoring the musical?! It’s so good. & definitely a way better adaptation than the Netflix movie
I read and watched death note (manga and anime) and so when I watched the live remake I hated every aspect of it, I was watching it with my dad and I asked to turn it off he said no and for the whole movie I was there watching hell.
That NETFLIX version of Death Note literally shortened my life by 1h 41m and the sad part is I will never get that back....
This guy looks like Lamar
I thought Mia's parents were killed by criminals and they got away with it but the rest I agree with.
Whoever thinks the death note movie is good plz don't ever come near me
I was going to watch that movie.. But i guess I got lucky
Baptise the people who watched the Netflix adaptation before the anime 😔😔
*takes netflix adaptation of death note to a warehouse* sayonara b!tch *proceeds to cover it in gasoline and light it on fire*
I hated the film the second I saw it wasn't in Japan!?!?
i have one question, does light turn into kira again?
i made it 11 minutes in b4 i had to turn the movie off
y is L black ????????
its so bad i couldnt finish it
Is there even a Mikami(the delete guy) in the movie?
theres a 2nd season apparently me and my aunt love death note and apparently a 2nd season is coming out in 2022.
I wish I could erase my memory of this movie, it makes me mad.
I'm embarrased to say that I used to like the movie, but I think it was only because I watched it instead of the anime first. Let's just say I dont like the movie anymore
Its bummer because the original the manga light is both better than the movies or the shitty live action
I didn't know that there was a Netflix adaptation and now...I wish it stayed that was cause this 'movie' ruined my whole perspective on the death not anime 💀
american ripoff vs original anime versions thats what i see
Light Yagami vs Light Imagay
a friend of mine watched the film and he doesn't want to watch the anime, and i swear to God I'm gonna beat the living shit out of him if he keeps saying it's the same thing
The f(x) were good but they changed it so much. I watched it with my parents, then we watched the anime and they agreed that the anime is much more better
Light Turner is the pit of despair.
The L in the movie is so cringey I swear 💀😭
The fact that the movie is still on Netflix but their taking other animes off.
They didn't ruin the anime. They just made a shitty Movie
They even removed the Anime in Germany so we are stuck with only the movie on Netflix.
Fuck the film the anime is so good
I loved the film. For a 90 minutes picture, it was a very good watch. It was inspired by the original work but it was never meant to be a word by word adaptation. It Americanized the Japanese anime very well. And it represented Light Turner as teenager who was affected badly by his mother's death. Way more realistic than the the genius 18 year old Light Yagami. Why would an 18 year old be so calculative anyway? It works in the world of anime of course but in alive action, well IDK.
I liked the netflix death note more because anime is not my thing but the ending was quite interesting in the film. The anime one looks weird but the netflix one have the green goblin so it is better by default
I was considering watching this film. Thank god I saw this video
Netflix adaptation sucks
I didn't waste time watching the Cringy films so its cool Anime version is the BEST
looking forward to the video about how they messed up the Cowboy Bebop adaptation (;
I have never watched the movie
I've only watched the anime and now it's the ONLY thing I'll watch of deathnote
The Japanese live actions are WAY better than the Netflix one
The thing in the film is that Misa first has brown hair and it doesnt even fit second she was in the beginning also there
My friend that never watched the anime watched the movie and said she loved it. Sad. *Anyways shes not my friend anymore*
I know why people hate it cause it’s live action that never works
Listen boys, THIS is ruining something, not MAPPAs aot
2 words neo yokio
Na bro I know Japanese I don’t use sub or dub
The Netflix Death Note movie just horrible in my opinion
I might be the only person that actually enjoyed the movie. It wasn't good, and some moments were too forced and dumb, but I found it very entertaining. I wish they comitted more to parody instead of being edgy though.
In short, the movie is obviously "If Light was an average high school American".
The guy in the thumbnail looks like KrmaL
6:13 even ryuk is like "bruh"
So... they decided to go a wildly different way with the movie: takes place in America, Light is an average not-so-bright teenager, the girlfriend Mia is as complicit in using the death note as Light is (if not more), no intellectual cat-and-mouse game. Disappointing for fans, but fine, we can always just watch the anime again. BUT, taking the movie on its own terms (if someone who never watched the anime watches this) it still isn't good. For one thing, the Death Note rules can be different than the manga/anime but the movie sets out its own rules and then totally breaks them in order to move the plot along. And L's character is not cool at all.... Telling a different story is OK but they don't tell it well.
who else here thinks that the anime one is better and also why Netflix why would you ruin death note
This is how netflix does things: americanize and ruin the plot
Good thing I never watched the movie and just saw an explanation of it.
at least ryuk looks creppy cuz the whole movie is shit
There’s already live action ones why tf would they make this😃🔫
🤣 4:39 they did him dirty
Me: mom can you turn on death note on the TV (i downloded it on flash) My mom: sure! *turns the netflix adaption on* Me: WHAT. IS. THIS My mom: death note! Me: 🤦🏻♀️
the Light in the anime: i will surely hide this notebook with every scientific way possible the Light in Netflix: Here you go
I don't like how In the film, they made L a scary cat.
What i most hate about the movie is that they made ryuk tell him what to do with the death note. Like, the first thing hw stated in the anime is that he won't help is just there to watch what happens.
Anybody got a link to that musical? Lmao
You should do an analysis of Demon Slayer, the anime and the movie. The movie became the most seen in Japan, even against a giant like Spirited Away
12:14 Hm. No wonder film Light is only *half-witted*
I havent Seen this movie and im very happy
not only does the the actors not have any similarities with the original characters (looks, personalities, etc) the whole movie misses its point. There’s no story development whatsoever, Light is as dumb as he looks and has no idea how the real world works, which throws off the whole idea of “Light wanting to become a god” because in truth he didn’t really do any of that for justice, he only did that to get laid, which is obviously not how Light think, he is a high intelligent psychopath who manipulates people to his advantage so that he could come closer to achieving his goal, for example Misa. The movie missed the whole point of the L and Light chase, L didn’t have enough time to let people even feel invested in the story, which was the big draw in the anime and made the viewers see both sides and two different perspectives, which made it far more interesting and intriguing. L is non existent, Light is an idiot and at some point Misa is smarter than Light and does all the work for him. I feel sorry for the creators of Death Note who watched the movie, and for everyone who’s watched the movie before the anime or manga. It’s a shame really.
This movie was so bad and dumb, the Japanese live action series did it better than them.
Death Note (2017) is a big pile of shit. I like Adam Wingard but this ain't it
The movie was so cringy
I swear Americans always gotta ruin good foreign films, shows, etc. by making adaptations out of them , just let it be goddamn 🙄
Dude they didint mess up shit
Cowboy Bebop is next on the Netflix chopping block. This makes me very sad...
REALLY ?
kill it.. kill it with fire
I hated this movie since the first 40 sec in, i knew it was bad... It's incredible how they took everything important about this great story and just forgot about it
what a minute: wisecrack!! Where did Chris come from and why have I never seen him before??!!!!
In the manga brutal ending, in the afterwards section you see Light walking around in Sinigami Land, making plans there. My god the manga was so so great! Followed closely with the lighter ending of the anime. The japanese movies were nice. There is no natflix adaptation. never was never will be!
Wait what, they really made a musical, like it really happened and is part of our history...
Glad I never watched the movie
Light was right but LIGHT wasn’t right. His philosophy makes sense but he didn’t go about it well
I’ve watched the anime 3 times and I’m on the 4th rewatch.. I started the movie and couldn’t get through more than 10 minutes of it. Such garbage. Can’t believe Netflix would insult Death Note like that. I had such high expectations bc Netflix usually does well with movies and TV shows but they really shit the bed with this one.
The trick to survive from the ferris wheel should work though, similar to how the japanese movie light finds a loophole around not being able to force somebody to kill. Manga/Anime light never used the notebook to manipulate people as extensively, but there is no reason he couldn't. Oh, and I think the Netflix version fails not because it doesn't stick enough to the source material, but because it doesn't know what it wants to be about instead. I think you do a good job at pointing out all the things the Netflix version decides NOT te be about.
Amazing analysis of the Netflix Netflix adaptation. Your breakdown Of the differences between the story and characters In the movie and anime and your points were extremely valid. Everybody else just wanted to talk about how they didn’t like the fact that it was Blak. Thank you for actually doing the work
how the hell did L become black
i feel like casting waan't very good the actors playing the rolls didn't fit the character archetypes they had in the anime and manga. and cat and mouse type movies depend heavily depends on the characters and world building around the cat, and mouse. although i did like L , to a certain extent i hated light
There was only two good things actually good about the (American) movie, Ryuk in general was amazing and LaKeith Stanfield copied L's mannerisms fairly well
The movie wasn’t even that bad you guys just need to separate the movie from the anime watch the movie as if u have no clue what it’s about like it’s completely new to you
How does it compares to Dragon ball evolution?
Wait a damn minute... There's a MUSICAL??
The Netflix movie is the Twilight version of Death Note.
*Subtle briliance* ! 😂😂😂 Like Your sense of humor. 😁
But which was worse though? The death note movie or the dragon ball movie?
